We love recitals, and our goal is to make every student comfortable and confident in every performing opportunity!
- Recitals are held in December and May. Invite friends and family for these exciting events!
- Festivals (non competitive) events are held twice a year at Concordia University, once in the Fall and once in the Spring.
- Performance competitions are plentiful in the Austin and surrounding areas. If you or your child would like to perform at a competitive level, please talk to your private teacher and arrangements can be made.
Other opportunities for students:
- State Theory test: held in early Spring. At this event, students are tested on the written music theory concepts of their grade level. These tests are sent into the state (Texas Music Teacher’s Association) and students receive grades and medals based on their performance.
- Publication Competition: students write an essay about music based on their grade level. These essays are graded locally and winners advance to the state level to be graded and possibly published!
- Composition Competition: students compose music based on their grade level. Pieces are graded locally and can advance to the state level for grading and possibly publication.
