About Dmitriy Krasny

Dmitriy Krasny was born near Tashkent in Uzbekistan, which was then part of the USSR. At the age of seven, he moved to the US with his family. He started learning piano at eleven, under the guidance of Miron Galperin and Eva Zinger. Dmitriy earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in Recording and Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory, where he studied piano with Alexander Shtarkman.

Since completing his studies, Dmitriy has been involved in various teaching, performance, and accompanying roles. In 2011, he hosted a one-hour special on WQXR radio in New York, focusing on the music of Alexander Scriabin. Besides his musical career, he has also worked in the wine industry in New York for over a decade, serving as a wine consultant and Sommelier.

Dmitriy is not only passionate about music and wine but also a competitive runner. He has participated in numerous marathons, half-marathons, and some unique races, such as the Mount Washington road race. However, he often considers himself his main competitor.

He believes that both music and sports are significant means of self-expression. While only a few may reach the pinnacle of their sport or win major music competitions, many can find joy and personal growth in these pursuits. Dmitriy emphasizes that anyone who truly loves music can make a meaningful and unique contribution through their musical expression. He is eager to share his love for Classical Music with his students.
